The end of the moratorium on photovoltaic tariffs, which was decided on last December, is approaching. Yesterday, the Prime Minister announced that manufacturers wishing to build plants on the ground or on larger areas of panels will have to answer calls for tenders. Individuals and small projects will see their tariff reduced by 20% in 2011 and 10% in 2012. The government wants to align the sector over the long term and fixe an annual production target of 500 megawatts per year. The only concession is that he suggests an increase to 800 megawatts … mid-2012, after the elections.
